Daily schedule
A safe, balanced routine that supports learning, play, and rest.
At Imaginations Pre-School and Early Learning Centre Fairfield, our daily routine helps children feel secure, confident, and ready to learn. Each day includes a mix of group learning, creative play, outdoor time, rest, and healthy meals—all supported by caring educators and age-appropriate activities.
Arrival and Free Play:
7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Children are welcomed into a calm, caring environment with indoor and outdoor play activities to ease into the day.
Morning Circle:
We start the day by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land with a Welcome to Country or Acknowledgment of Country. Children join in familiar songs—including Aboriginal songs like “Taba Naba”, ” “Inanay”—and engage in calendar, group discussion, and greeting activities that build community and routine.
Morning Tea & Clean-Up:
9:25 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Children enjoy a healthy snack and are supported to wash hands, serve themselves, and tidy up. This builds self-care skills and good hygiene habits.
Child Choice & Group Learning:
10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Children explore interest-based activities including art, puzzles, dramatic play, construction, and sensory play. Educators also lead small group sessions focusing on early literacy, STEM, and communication.
Outdoor Play & Physical Development:
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Lunch & Bed Setup:
11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Children enjoy a healthy lunch together and then help prepare for rest time by setting up their beds, developing responsibility and routine awareness.
Rest Time / Quiet Activities:
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Younger children (Starlighters, Sunlighters) rest or nap in a calm, quiet space.
Older children (Moonlighters – Preschoolers) engage in quiet activities like puzzles, drawing, or book time, supported by educators.
Creative Learning, Music & News Time:
2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Children enjoy hands-on experiences such as art, storytelling, music, and dance. During News Time, children are encouraged to share and reflect, building language and confidence.
Afternoon Tea:
2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
A light, healthy snack helps children recharge for the final part of their day.
Free Play, Child Choice & Pick-Up:
3:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
As the day winds down, children are encouraged to explore their interests through child-led play. They may choose from a variety of calm, engaging activities such as building blocks, drawing, imaginative play, reading, or puzzles. This time supports creativity, decision-making, and social interaction.
Educators guide and extend play experiences while helping children prepare for home. Families are welcomed with daily updates and warm goodbyes, making transitions smooth and meaningful.
